Staffordshire Blue Tiles from Dreadnought Tiles were used on this incredible roof with a view. Strawbale House overlooks Loch Sunart near Fort William in Scotland and uses a Cruck Frame (Crook Frame) roof design. Traditionally made by using naturally curved timbers leaning towards a ridge and secured with a horizontal beam. These would typically have been constructed on the ground, before being lifted into place and secured with solid walls or further beams. Why not visit Strawbale House as it is available as a holiday let. Images kindly supplied by Dreadnought Tiles.
