It's only when you start to look really closely at the newly built expansion of the University Hospital of the Santa Fe de Bogota Foundation in Columbia that you really understand its design. From a distance the mass of brickwork takes on a Borg like cube structure. A solid mass of brickwork with narrow slits to allow some light to the occupants. On closer inspection you can see a wire frame work stretched over the whole building with bricks suspended between the wires like tightrope walkers. An incredible homage to the Cities main building material and also acting as a filter for light and pollution.
